Hormones and Weight Loss with Dr. Erin Kunkel

Join Dr. Erin Kunkel, double-board certified in OBGYN and obesity medicine as well as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, in a conversation about the intersection of women's hormonal changes and weight gain. We'll discuss the physiology of hunger and weight gain, the hormonal shifts of midlife and how they impact weight, and the lifestyle and medication interventions, including GLP-1s, that could change how we think and feel about our body size and shape.

Beginners are welcome to play Mah Jongg at the library! All levels are welcome as those more familiar with the game will help those not as familiar. There is no formal instruction. Registration is required and space is limited.
 

Ghost Gear with the Commerical Fisheries Research Foundation

Did you know that abandoned, lost or discarded fishing gear (ALDFG), also known as ghost gear,
can have wide-ranging impacts on our marine environment? From ecological damage to safety
hazards and economic losses for fishermen, ghost gear has become an issue with many
potential consequences.
We'd love for you to join us and learn about the results of our 2025 removal activities. We'll
answer your questions, share our plans for next year's projects and introduce a new ALDFG
reporting system we will be implementing in summer 2026
